Tony served proudly as Airman First Class in the US Air Force and was a Vietnam Era Veteran. He was assigned to Dover Air Force Base, Delaware and worked in the crews who prepared America's Fallen Heroes killed in action or casualties of the Vietnam War for their final trip home. His job was to ensure that their belongings were sent home with the correct remains. Tony's wife LeAnn, a Post 136 Women's Auxiliary and ALR 136 member, has requested the American Legion Riders to attend the funeral service. Please keep LeAnn, Tony's family, and friends in your thoughts and prayers. God Bless our Tony. LeAnn has asked that NO-Fund Raisers be planned at this time. But please shop at Beavers Den. The time schedules for the parade and the funeral present a complex situation for everyone who intends to attend both. All American Legion Riders who participate in the parade and wish to attend the funeral, please travel to Central Christian Church immediately after the parade to form a flag line. All cages (4-wheel vehicles) please go to the church and park - do not go to the mortuary. Bring motorcycle flag pole and a American flag. Bring water and lunch snack. Riders with flag poles will be directed to line up in column of 2’s facing East in one area. Riders without flag poles in column of 2’s in another area. All Cages ( 4-wheeled vehicles ) must go to the church to form a flag line. 1150 hr (11:50am) Briefing by RC - will explain route to church 1215 hr (12:15AM) Escort to depart for church Funeral Service Location and Final Staging Area: 1130 hr (11:30AM) Central Christian Church 2900 North Rock Road Wichita, Kansas Church Flag Line Up and Parking Crew: Doc Herndon, Red Coberley, Chris Hummel, Brock Hayes Line up behind the motorcycles with the American Flags flying on the East side of the South Parking Lot, facing north in columns of 2s as directed upon your arrival. Entrance to this area is from Rock Road. Fly American Flags while parked. 1200 hr (NOON) Form Avenue of Flags Be prepared for arrival of friends and family. 1245 hr (12:45AM) arrival of mortuary escort Flag Truck: will be at church with ten-foot American Flags Funeral Service start time 1300 hr (1PM) Roll up flags as directed.
